Finally finished. Learned a lot and wish I had a paint sprayer. I took it apart and sanded primed and painted. First with a roller and that left a texture so more sanding. Then used a brush but my paint dried too quickly and left brush marks. More sanding. Thinned and added an extender to the white paint and brushed it. Better but lightly sanded again. The lid gave me grief and so that is when I decided to lightly distress it. The brown was easier to work with and did not distress it. The old hinges were worn out and are hard to find! I had to order new ones and they were a bit different so had to do some chiselingthe hinge is bigger and not flat like the old ones so there is a gap when it's open but it will have to do. Lined the drawers with mod podge and wrapping paper. Finished with furniture wax.
