We haven't posted a penny pincher project in a while. This is my favorite two-for. I wish I would have remembered to take the before photo! I picked this piece up for $25 on Facebook Marketplace. It was an old, dirty mahogany antique secretary with glass doors on the top. I removed the doors (or Pat did). I had mirrors installed in place of the glass and asked Pat to secure the doors together as one hanging unit and to add molding I bought for the window pane look. He was very accommodating! I lightly sanded the secretary and used chalk paint for the body, and a bright Valspar high hiding paint and primer for the shelves. (La Fonda Flamenco Pink - love the name!) After a couple of coats of chalk paint, I sanded away small areas and made some scratches for the shabby chic look. And, voila, two DIY projects for the cheap price of one great find.
